Maps Anyone?

.
I've previously posted this on my own blog: it's a map of my childhood home, an exercise I did in my weekly clinical counseling training. It might tell you something about me, your neighbor at # 9, and if it does, I don't mind at all.
.
But I have bigger fish to fry. I am posting this map today because I would love to see a map of Blogland Lane. I don't mean who lives where, per se, but we now have a playground, a music hall, a store, a fairground. We have mountains and lakes and oceans and fields. Maybe we'll have dog parks and bike trails and a village shopping center.
.
One thing we have for sure is an overspill of creativity, imagination and good will.
.
SO WHO'S WILLING
TO TAKE
AN ARTISTIC TURN
AT DRAWING
A MAP
OF BLOGLAND LANE?
.
Wouldn't it be cool if several of us took to our pencils or photoshop or what ever and shared our images and visions of how we see this community of ours? Lolo? Mim? Caroline? Pieterbie? Babs? Sonia? Etc. Etc.
.
Just thinking, as usual.....
xoxo

  1. Sorry, Karen - I have NO spatial awareness at all. I even got hopelessly lost in the toilets at one of the airports we signed at. Every door I opened seemed to lead to a cupboard. I just couldn't remember where the exit was. In the end I waited until someone else left and followed her out . . . so maps are a bit of a no-no for me. I'd get everything upside down and back to front. I suppose you could always look at mmy map in a mirror . . .

  2. Good idea but I'm not good at puzzles and this would be a BIG one (for me anyway). It will be fun to see the end result if someone steps up.

  5. Not only can't I read a map, I can never refold the bugger either.

This map would be a huge undertaking KJ. It's a wonderful idea, but dang, 100 houses and various other places!
Maybe there's a landscape architect among us who knows CAD? That would be the program needed, and the skills!

Sorry. Will you still be my pal?

  8. I've thought about a map for Blogland Village, kj, as well. I get boggled at all the different landscapes, oceans and mountains, etc. there are. I have to do a lot more thinking and a whole lot more reading of this blog on this, but there must be a way.

Maybe we could just leave those things out? Or just show some? Still thinking...

  9. I don't think it has to be a literal map showing each home in relation to the other...more of a map mashup-showing all the wonderful things we have here.

likely take months to put together, but would love to see it :)

  12. P.S. kj, any idea why this blog doesn't show up with a name in the reader or my dashboard - I've just got a dot '.' instead of 'Blogland Lane' ?

  13. My boyfriend, while traveling, no longer asks me to read the map. When he asks how far it is to the next place, my reply is always: "oh,,,about a quarter of an inch."
I'll just sharpen the pencils and let someone else draw maps. Sorry.

  14. I am unemployed, and need something creative to do between job hunting bouts. As no one has dropped a literary agent down my chimney, I will make an attempt at the map. Progress reports are coming...

  16. Hmm, maps, I like the way you draw yours.
I'd be no good at that, I'd sit down behind the PC and make it all too complicated again.
