Deus Ex Machina?

Does anyone else read Blogland Lane from a reader? Did anyone else see what I saw this morning?

  1. I read it from a reader - saw nothing out of the ordinary though... tell us more!

  4. Yes, I have read it too. Don't understand it. Who is Deus ex Machina?

  5. I read the blog on a PC. What is everyone talking about? I'm confused. That's the state of mind I usually experience in the 'real' world, not in Blogland Lane.

  7. I think a reader is an RSS feed-it feeds into your e-mail or a reading area. I think-I don't know.

Hmmm, I wonder if I could send my blogs to the kindle-could I reply? I don't know.

  9. I will try to explain. A feed reader is an 'instrument' (mine is a Google one) where you can put websites in and when someone has posted a new post, the reader gives a warning. In my reader you can see the text of the new post. It depends, but with some blogs you can read a few lines and with other blogs you can read all and see the pictures. I have put Blogland Lane in my reader and therefore I could see that completely uninteresting and irrelevant post of Deus ex Machina. But the main question is: how can someone post on Blogland Lane without permission?

  10. I use Google Reader and thought it was Spam that someone had deleted but it's still sitting there. Weird that it didn't post on the blog. I thought Debra might have removed it?

  11. I know that if I post something by accident (say, a draft not yet ready) it may show up in the reader. I also use a Google Reader. Another term is feed aggregator. So it's possible, however unlikely that someone posted to the wrong blog. Unless it was one of our members? And the post was supposed to go on their home blog? I tried to search for it, but was unable to find it having posted elsewhere.

  12. Wait, I found it here: http://fledglinglawyer.blogspot.com/ I do not recognize the e-mail for the author. Maybe Debra does? Our Lydia from writerquake follows this fledgling lawyer. A relative who borrowed her computer maybe?

Just call me Middle: Internet Detective.

  16. According to Blogland Lane, deus ex machina is a follower. According to deus ex machina's own blog, he's also a blogger on Blogland Lane. I couldn't see him listed on the directory. I wonder where on Blogland Lane he lives, or is he just visiting?

  17. I use Google's reader.
Didn't notice this, but I've been very busy, little time to blog.
With so many people in one blog, we should not be surprised that this account is compromised one of these days. Not everyone is careful with passwords and that kind of thing. I'm one of the webmasters for a badminton website in Belgium and we have been hacked twice in the past month. Likely because one of the webmasters was a victim of a keylogger trojan that sends logons and passwords to it's owner.
We need to be aware of this kind of risk.

  18. I'm not sure I like the idea of being hacked . . . ! Do we have squatters in Blogland Lane??! Perhaps we should be careful to lock our doors and make sure our windows are shut when we go out?
