Aerial View

I thought I would begin our map adventure with an aerial view of our little lane. Since so many of us have water views, I think we must live on a small island. I will insert the map picture here, hoping that if you click on it, you will see the larger version.

Your task is to select which lot number you want to be yours. Don't be concerned that the house numbers won't proceed in order. I've set up the zoning laws myself. Any number, anywhere. I will start by reserving number 51 for myself.

I have numbered 61 lots so far, with room for expension on the north side of the island. Also, notice that there are four common areas, so far, Sunrise Park and Sunset Beach, a public beach, and Picnic Island. Those of you who like higher elevations, choose an inland lot, as that where the hills are.

Pick your spot and leave it in the comments. Once we are all in, we can go from there!

  1. How great! We have a map! Middle, you are just amazing...just like that, we are all settled in place. Could I have Lot 40, by Sunrise Park?

It's a really beautifully done map, as well. Thank you!

  3. Whow, great job, Middle! I would prefer 56 for my house and 57 for my Flower & Gift shop. Or....maybe there is a kind of Plaza where more shops and restaurants and so on will be... then I would like to have my shop there.

  4. I will add a column to the directory with lot numbers, and Weineke, I recommend integrating the shops and homes. So much easier to be able to run home for a moment, isn't it?

  5. I'll just take lot 13-easy to remember. Looks like it might be in a flood plain though-no worries, I'll just install a giant french drain and use the floodwaters to generate electricity.

  8. I would like #64 if possible. Even though it's inland on this wonderful map, I'm sure my beach house will be perfect there, as all things are possible on Blogland Lane, right?
Thank you Middle, for the map!

I'm #0 and I have a gypsy caravan so maybe I don't get a lot? I just get to travel to each and every one of yours~

  12. #51 is my address, and on the map it is exactly as I pictured it! You clever little minx! I'll stick with #51.

  13. This is amazing. Can I take lot no. 47 please? It seems to be roughly where the purple house in the picture of Blogland Lane is. House no. 101 on lot no. 47 - makes perfect sense to me. Thank you.

  15. Hmm, I don't know about this.
I mean: I like the idea of this aerial view, but I picked the house number I wanted, so I'm not really looking to pick the spot now. I'll let fate decide.

  16. okay, i've calmed down. i'd like 23, 24, and 25. if lolo and sweet mango, my neighbors on either side of me, don't like the location, they can weigh in themselves, but i'm reserving the spaces: studio lolo at 23 so she can walk emma her dog on the beach, 24 for me, and 25 for sweetsweetmango. and i'm pondering where to put the non profit....

    this is so cool, middle.

  17. I'd really like plot 22 - right next to the public beach, because I'm lazy and want everyone to come over my house to have a drink after the beach. All I have to do is stock the house with juice and vodka

  18. Hey everybody, just a reminder, your address need not match the lot number. I will redo with our names instead of numbers once we are set. Pick whichever you want, just be sure it's not already taken. Angela- since 51 is your address, I will surrender that lot to you and go next door at 52. And Pattee - you also get to select whichever open place you would like! I don't recommend in the hills though, you don't want the gypsy cart to roll away!

  19. i am en-visioning the public beach. it is the coolest public beach that's ever existed. it has hammocks and swings and cantinas and water slides and the softest sand.

i will probably walk along that beach every morning....

  21. thx maw :)

looks like the closest to my lot is where the #57 is... not lot 57, but the area ;) lol

have a look at #333 and you'll see why... it extends to the shoreline

  22. Well, let's see - Annie Bimbimie is lot #53 and I'm (another Annie) on lot #53A which is actually a lighthouse overlooking the beach. We are sharing the space. She has a house and I have a lighthouse/cottage to keep everyone safe as they are cruising the island.
