Poetry Slam...Camouflage


" You know the type.

Eyes cast downward

like a closed umbrella~



tatoos, flashy clothes, red lips

and hair so black it's electric blue.



As soon as she opens her mouth to speak

you feel her pain.

Searing, white-hot.

And only then do you understand

her need for camouflage.
